Even if you can't swim. you can enjoy the underwater world by going snorkeling. The equipment you need is simple and we'll provide it for you, you will learn how to use it almost automatically. You will be able to enjoy the most spectacular panaroma from the surface. The waters of the Andaman Sea are unbelievably clear and clean, and the temperature is pleasant. If you go snorkelling when the sun is at it hottest, make sure you put a T-shirt on, because you can easily get burnt. On this tour we will take you to see corals and thousand of fishes of many kind.

Enjoy the experience of riding an elephant trough jungle and rivers.

The Hmongs are tribal people who live in remote areas of north Thailand and Laos. Originate from China, they have their own language, and traditions. Because they were used during the recent wars by both, the communists and the anticommunists many of them became refugee in Thailand and in third countries. They are kind and shy people and they will welcome you as best as they can. To stay overnight with them is an unforgettable experience. White water rafting, a refreshing experience. After a short orientation to rafting technique, enjoy the excitement of the passage of Wa river rapids. During the descent, possibilities to swim around the raft and to jump from a cliff. 
The Sakai's are a nomadic, tribal people who live in the forests of Southern Thailand. They live in small group of 20-30 and stay in very remote huts, or sometimes just few leaves as shelter. There is no evidence of their origins. Some people think that they are related to the head-hunter tribes of Borneo.... but they are a friendly and shy people.

City tour with a difference; Central Bangkok by riverboat, skytrain, tuk-tuk and canal taking in sites such as the Grand Palace and the fabulous Wat Pra Kaew – Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

Trekking in the wilderness of the tropical forest is something you will remember for ever. Some trek are quiet challenging, but always rewarding. One day, you'll walk on a top of a mountain to admire the beautiful scenery and go down to the other side to stay at a Hmong village. Another day, you will follow a river and cross it 18 times. A shorter trek will bring you along an astonishing waterfall and finally to a very remote sakai tribe settlement.

Enjoy great choices of Thai food all along the tour and cook your own lunch during a cookery lesson on day 20.

Mangrove is a fascinating eco-system. Where else can you find trees walk out over the sea, fish which climb the trees and monkeys who eat crabs? In this exciting adventure, you will canoeing in this astonishing environment and trough cave.

 

Program

Day 1: Departure from your home country. This flight is not included in the prices shown below. Special prices are offered from London

Day 2: Arrival in Bangkok, Thailand and transfer to a downtown hotel. Relax, explore the area or check out some local markets.

Day 3: City tour with a difference! Bangkok by riverboat, sky train, tuk-tuk and canal boat! Stop-offs include the Grand Palace, fabulous Wat Phra Keow - “Temple of the Emerald Buddha” and the ‘Jim Thompson House’ Museum.

Day 4: Morning departure by train; across the Central Plains and their emerald green rice paddies, to up-country Phitsanulok town – the Gateway to the North.  Lunch time arrival and transfer to nearby Sukhothai town with the afternoon to relax in our guesthouse garden or explore the local markets.

Day 5: Bicycle tour of the ancient, ruined city of Sukhothai – former capital of Siam – which, with it's crumbling sandstone temples, towering Buddha statues and lotus covered ponds, is one of the country's most sacred and evocative sites. On the way, visit a farmer's house.  View photos...

Day 6: Complete our journey northwards to remote Nan near the Lao border. This charming town, well off the beaten tourist trail, was an independent city-state until 1931 when it was finally incorporated into the Kingdom of Siam.

Day 7: A unique three day experience trekking through dramatic jungle clad mountains bordering Laos. Spend the night as guests of a Hmong family in a tribal village. View photos... 

Day 8: Hike trough jungle and bamboo forest along the lovely Peng river and spend the second night in chalets on the banks of the scenic Wa River. 

Day 9: A white-water descent of the river completes the expedition before returning to Nan town

Day 10: Scenic drive through the mountains to Chiang Mai with a stop-off for a visit and elephant ride at the Lampang Elephant orphanage. Evening tour of the town’s famous night bazaar.

From here, we vary this tour to avoid the western monsoon during April to September.

A = October to April and B = May to September

A: October to April

Day 11- A: Fascinating ‘hands on’ Thai cookery lesson: beginning with a guided tour of the markets bewildering selection of herbs, spices, exotic fruit and vegetables you’l then head off to the kitchen to cook (and then eat), your own lunch.

Day 12 - A: Morning at leisure or time to explore the town’s quiet lanes and picturesque temples before heading south with a flight to Bangkok where we’ll connect with the night sleeper train for Nakhorn Si Thammarat.

Day 13 - A: Afternoon tour to discover this southern town’s bustling markets and temples & checkout some of the local handicrafts. Evening tour of the town’s lively night market.

Day 14 - A: Excursion to nearby Khao Luang National Park, site of the dramatic Kharom Waterfall – one of the highest and most spectacular in S.E. Asia. Bathing, hiking and scrambling up the falls!

Day 15 - A: On to Thale Noi Bird Sanctuary in Phattalung Province – one of the region’s most important water-bird sites – where we’ll travel by boat through the atmospheric marshes and lily-covered lakes. Afternoon visit to the Wat Tham Sumano cave temple complex and an evening arrival in Trang Town on the Andaman Coast.

Day 16 - A: One day jungle expedition to Ban-Traat Mountain. Trek through the rainforest, bathe in mountain streams and visit a Sakai settlement – a former hunter-gatherer, jungle dwelling people.

Day 17 - A: Head for the coast to Chao Mai National Park where we’ll canoe through mangrove swamps and along underground streams to visit the spectacular and mysterious, sacred sea caves. Afternoon transfer to Libong Island for accommodation at a beachside resort.

Day 18 - A: Leisurely day on this tranquil island; make the most of the turquoise waters and sandy beaches, sling a hammock between a couple of palm trees or visit the local fishing village.

Day 19 - A: Boat tour through the spectacular scenery of Chao Mai National Marine Park, snorkel and swim on the archipelago’s vibrant coral reefs.

Day 20 - A: Morning at leisure to explore the island or top up your suntan, before returning to Trang or Krabi* for an evening flight to your home country via Bangkok. (*From Trang or Krabi depending upon schedules)

B: May to September

Day 11 - B: A 'hands on’ Thai cookery lesson: beginning with a guided tour of the markets bewildering selection of herbs, spices, exotic fruit and vegetables you’ll then head off to the kitchen to cook (and then eat) your own lunch.

Day 12 - B: Morning at leisure or time to explore the town’s quiet lanes and picturesque temples before heading south with a flight to Bangkok where we’ll connect with the night sleeper train for Trang Town on South Thailand’s Andaman Sea Coast.

Day 13 - B: Morning arrival and afternoon jungle expedition to Ban-Trat Mountain. Hike through the rainforest, bathe in mountain streams and visit a Sakai settlement – a former hunter-gatherer, jungle dwelling people.

Day 14 - B: Head for the coast to Ban Chao Mai ‘sea-gypsy’ village from where we’ll canoe through mangrove swamps and along underground streams to visit the spectacular and mysterious, sacred sea caves.

Day 15 - B: Drive into the mountainous interior for a visit to the spectacular cave temples of Wat Tham Sumano then on to Thale Noi Bird Sanctuary in Phattalung Province – one of the region’s most important water-bird sites – where we’ll travel by boat through the atmospheric marshes and lily-covered lakes. Afternoon arrival in Nakorn Si Thammarat.

Day 16 - B: Excursion to Khao Luang National Park, site of the dramatic Karom Waterfall – one of the highest and most spectacular in S.E. Asia. Bathing, hiking and scrambling up the falls! Afternoon return to Nakorn with time to discover the impressive temples and bustling markets of this distinctively southern town.

Day 17 - B: Morning drive into the forested hills of Chumporn Province and afternoon rafting trip on the Pha To River. Overnight in a scenic lakeside, family run chalet resort.

Day 18 - B: Departure by minibus to Prachuap Khiri Khan Province and afternoon arrival on unspoilt Koh Thalu Island for 2 night’s accommodation in a secluded, beachside resort.

Days 19 - B: Relaxing in this peaceful setting: swimming, beach-combing, snorkeling, kayaking, exploring the area or just lazing in a hammock.

Day 20 - B: Morning at leisure on the island and afternoon drive back to Bangkok to catch an evening flight to your home country.*

*Please note beach extensions are available for those wishing to stay longer on the island.
